FAQ's and Preparation Tips For Hypnosis
Frequently Asked Questions
How long will a session last?
Typically 3 1/2 to 4 hours in one session, but some sessions may take longer and some shorter; we really can't put time limits on it. Follow up sessions tend to be faster. Please don't make any other appointments or significant plans for that day following your session. Leave the remainder of the day aside to help process your experience. You will need a cool-down period of around 30 mins after your session until you will be able to leave and be safe for driving. This is usually the time it takes to go over your results we find.
Is it recommended to take any medication on the day of the session?
I do not offer medical advice personally, but we aim to eventually not need in the future for you to be taking medication long term, and this will need to be discussed with your doctor or local GP. By all means, carry on with regular prescriptions if you feel them necessary to your comfort; please inform me beforehand as to what medications you take. Always consult your doctor if you have any queries.
How does it feel to be hypnotised? Will I be in control of the session?
It feels completely natural, as everyone is in the 'Theta' state of mind every day, twice a day. Everything in a session will be shown to you for a significant reason, and your subconscious will never give you a situation or experience that you can't handle emotionally. You are always in control of a session as I don't lead you anywhere.
What is involved in a typical session?
We don't know what will occur during a session, and there is a good reason why that is so. We just let whatever happens happen and have no expectation other than finding out why specific issues present themselves to you.
Will I be shown a past life during my session?
It's possible when we do a regression that we are shown 'past lives'; however, it's essential to keep that expectation away too, we go to the source of these issues, and they may indeed have manifested in a past life.
What is the Higher Self?
It's you! The part of the mind remembers everything about you and is found deep within the subconscious. It knows what you are meant to get from the session, and it will be the ultimate director of what is shown to you. If you can keep the analytical part of the brain out of the equation, you will have a better chance of accessing it. This can be made more accessible by daily meditations and, of course, following my instructions.
Will I need further sessions in the future?
Yes, quite possibly, some people will benefit significantly from repeat sessions, although one session can be all you need. A second session could be more helpful for those who didn't know what to expect and who does unless you've done something similar before. If you feel you need a new set of circumstances addressed in the months/years to come because they have changed, then, by all means, feel free to book another session. Ultimately, once you have established a connection with your higher self, though, it is always there helping you on your way, long after your initial session.
Will my session be recorded?
Yes, and you will be given a choice of having a video recording (mp4) or an audio (mp3) recording. I highly recommend that you choose to video the session, as it is much better at conveying emotions and ultimately creating a more enhanced experience. It's imperative to listen/watch it as much as your healing is required until you start to feel that the recovery is complete; this could be daily, weekly or every month or so. Keep the recording safe and if you notice old patterns returning, then pop your headphones on and find a quiet time to watch/listen to it again, just before bedtime or when you awake is ideal.
What if I can't be Hypnotised?
This is a rare occurrence. Generally, though, these are the type of people that don't really want help. Strong intentions will help you have a better trance and gain better results. Hypnosis is such a natural state of mind that you will probably not feel any difference until you get off the couch/bed. Please refer to the video playlist at the bottom of this page, and these videos are perfect for those who want to get the most from their experience and help cast those doubts to the side.
Do I need to choose a particular method of hypnosis?
Yes and no. QHHT sessions can't be done online. However, my other techniques have been designed to be conducted online as well as in person. If you are here in person, I will use whichever approach I believe will work best for you and your circumstances on the day of your session unless you request a particular method.
What are Surrogate sessions?
These types of sessions have just been added to my practice and have been tried and tested with outstanding results. Based on the premise that we are all connected on a conscious level, we can use a surrogate. This is usually a family member who will stand in for a client who wouldn't otherwise be able to be put under hypnosis. The session is then carried out as usual but with permission from the surrogate and the client. We proceed as usual, as in a typical session, and find the necessary healing or relief for the client through the surrogate.
What are the typical costs for a session?
My sessions are set as an introductory price to help build up my business and are very competitive at the moment. Please take advantage of these prices as they are very reasonable compared with similar techniques. Other Hypnotherapists typically charge anything from £50-£100 per hour, depending on the therapy. My rate isn't set by time, charged per session, and is a fixed price, so you know exactly what you need to pay before we begin. My sessions focused on finding your intention and wellbeing, however long that may take on the day.
If you are in any way not satisfied with your experience, you will receive a full refund.
